Geneviève was born on May 27th, 1686 in Québec and her christening took place on May 28th, 1686.  Geneviève's father was Ignace Gagné-Gasnier and her mother was Barbe Dodier.  Her paternal grandparents were Louis II Gagné and Marie Michel; her maternal grandparents were Jacques Dodier and Catherine Caron. She had a brother and a sister, named Jacques and Marie-Louise.  She was the second oldest of the three children. She had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Ignace, Pierre, Louis, François-Xavier, Raphaël, Françoise, Françoise and Barbe.  She died at the age of 44 on April 9th, 1731 in Baie-St-Paul, Qc, Canada.
