His paternal grandparents were Count Geoffrey (Duke of Normandy) Plantagenet V and Maud (Queen of the English / Lady of the English) of England. He was an only child. He died due to a medical problem, Fever, chills, exhaustion after crossing Wash of Lincoln & Norfolk, at the age of 49 on October 19th, 1216 in Newark, Nottingham, England.
