John Alexander Jewett 
John was born on August 22nd, 1827 in Granby, Connecticut.1 John's father was Peter Jenner Jewett and his mother was Louisa Adelaide Smith. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Jewett and <Unknown>. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Stanley, Joseph, George, Frederick, Helen, Jane, Mary Ann and Louisa. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 60 on May 8th, 1888.1
