Maria was born on July 8th, 1704 in Heusden Zolder.1   Maria's father was Arnoldus (Jacobus) Gathoffs and her mother was Christina Vanderheyden.  Her paternal grandparents are <Unknown> and <Unknown>. She had two brothers and a sister, named Jos, Antonius and Helena.  She was the second youngest of the four children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Petrus, Andreas  and Maria Catharina.
