Jacobus  was born in 1578 in Antwerp.1   Jacobus 's father was Hans  BROERS  and his mother was Anna  Haecx .  His paternal grandparents were Joannes  BROERS  and Elisabeth Van Haecht . He had two brothers and a sister, named Jan , Thomas  and Anna .  He was the oldest of the four children.
