Maria  was born on November 26th, 1588 in Mechelen.1   Maria 's father was Cornelis  BROERS  and her mother was Margriet  Mortelers (Notelters).  Her paternal grandparents were Geeraert   (De Oude) BROERS  and Madelena (Margreta) Couthans . She had a brother named Jan .  She was the older of the two children.
