Geeraert  was born in 1523 in Rumst. Geeraert 's father was Joannes  BROERS  and his mother was Anna  Nulaet .  His paternal grandparents were Engelbertus BROERS  and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Machiel, and <Unknown>. He had three brothers and a sister, named Kristiaen , Joannes , Jacobus  and "Joanna" .  He was the youngest of the five children.  He died at the age of 63 on July 8th, 1586 in Antwerp.1
