Jan  was born on January 4th, 1676 in Waver.1   His godfather was/is Gummarus Broers and his godmother was/is Maria Wouters.  Jan 's father was BROERS , Gummarus  and his mother is Wouters , Maria.  His paternal grandfather was BROERS , Jan  and his paternal grandmother is De Clerck, Agnes. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Petrus , Gummarus , Judocus , Antonius , Franciscus , Maria , Elisabeth , Maria  and Catharina .  He is the youngest of the ten children.
