Elizabeth was born in 1879.  Elizabeth's father was H. James Purvis and her mother was Nancy Elizabeth Azbill.  Her maternal grandparents were James Azbill and Mahala Jane Bicknell.  She was the sixth of eight children.  She had five brothers and two sisters, named William Campbell, James Zachary, Joseph G., Thomas R., John I., Mary and Ida J..  She died at the age of 41 in 1920.
