Aaron was born in 1760.  Aaron's father was Joseph Asbell and his mother was Dorothy Ross.  His paternal grandparents were Pierce Asbill and Mary Solomon; his maternal grandparents were George Aeneas Ross and Catherine Van Gezel.  He was the oldest of thirteen children.  He had seven brothers and five sisters, named John, William, Joseph, James, Christopher, Martin, Emanuel, Mary, Elizabeth, Nancy, Martha and Hannah.  He died at the age of 53 in 1813.
