Egbert, known as Ep, was born on August 24th, 1916 in Wapse.1  Ep's father was Egbert (Ep) Veenstra and his mother was Jantina Oosterkamp.  His paternal grandparents were Harm Veenstra and Albertje Monsuur; his maternal grandparents were Egbert Oosterkamp and Annigje Kamer. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Grote Haarm, Arnold, Jan, Jan, Aubuttie van Ep and Annigje.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 79 on April 24th, 1996.2
