Willem was born on October 11th, 1825 in Zelhem.1  Willem's father was Lammert Radstake and his mother was Leidina Buunk (Vaijers).  His paternal grandparents were Joost Radstake (Ratstaak) and Wilmina / Willemina ((ook Aaltje)) Gielink (Bloemen); his maternal grandparents were Lammert Buunk / Burink and Jenneken Berendsen / Berendzen (Vaijers). He had a brother and six sisters, named Gerhard, Jantjen, Jenneken, Aleida Willemina, Garritjen, Johanna and Berendjen.  He was the third oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 56 on July 9th, 1882 in Willem Radstake.2
