Geesken was born on January 13th, 1695 in Dinxperlo.  Geesken's father was Derk / Derck ter Beest and her mother was Aaltien Beutink (Beutinck / Boijtinck).  Her paternal grandparents were Hendrik Derck te Beest and Mechteld Besselink; her maternal grandparents were Jan Beutink and Trijne Rengelink. She had six brothers and a sister, named Jan, Hendrik, Arend, Geesken, Derck, Garrit Willem and Maria Engelina.  She was the second oldest of the eight children.
