Geertuid was born on March 4th, 1787 in Gendringen. Geertuid's father was Evert Jan / Gerrit Jan Lammers (Lamers) and her mother was Jenneken Berkelaar (Berkelers / Berkerders).  Her paternal grandparents were Henrik Lamers and Vrouw / Moeder; her maternal grandparents were Garrit / Gerrit Berkelder and Elisabeth / Elisabet Nienhuis (Nijenhuis‏‎ / Nijenhuijs). She had two brothers and three sisters, named Gerrit, Jan, Elisabeth, Derk and Hendrika.  She was the third youngest of the six children. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Evert Jan, Gerrit Jan, Jannes and Maria.  She died at the age of 69 on January 1st, 1857 in Gendringen.
