Eva was born on February 18th, 1753 in Zelhem.1  Eva's father was Gart Jan / Garrit Jan Hoeve / Hoever and her mother was Maria / Marija Wassink / Wossink.  Her paternal grandparents were Jan Hoeve, ter and Vrouw / Moeder. She had five brothers and six sisters, named Willem, Jan, Mijntjen, Marten, Evert, Jenneken, Geertjen, Hendriea, Janna / Jannij, Stijntjen and Anneken.  She was the fourth youngest of the twelve children.
