Dirck was born on February 27th, 1629 in Leiden.1  Dirck's father was Claes Dircxz van der Meer (Meere) and his mother was Marie Danielsdr Catterwijck.  His paternal grandparents were Janse van der Meer and Vrouw / Moeder. He had two brothers named Dirick and Daniel.  He was the youngest of the three children.
