Cornelis was born on May 22nd, 1793.  Cornelis' father was Jan Cornelis de Boer and his mother was Trijntje Dirks Schoutsen / Schoutse / Schouten. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Dirk, Geertje, Cornelis, Anna, Vrouwtje, Lijsbeth, Lijsbeth and Trijntje.  He was the youngest of the nine children.
