Pieter was born on October 9th, 1686. Pieter's father was Laurens / Laurentz / Lauwerd Chijle and his mother was Cornelia Philps Schoonemans.  His paternal grandparents were Denijs / Dennis Adamsz Silo (Gilo, Chijlo, Sijloo) and Annetje Schijn; his maternal grandfather was Philp Schoonemans. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named Philps, Philps, Cornelis, Cornelis, Cornelis, Adam, Laurenz, Stefanis, Anna, Anna and Anna.  He was the oldest of the twelve children.
