Dorothe was born on October 1st, 1727 in Haarlem.1  Dorothe's father was Hendrik / Henderik Jansz Persoon and her mother was Lysbeth / Lijsbeth Snep.  Her paternal grandparents were Jan Hendrikse / Hendrickz Persoon and Huibertje Wilhemsz van Geele (Geel). She had four sisters named Huybertje, Dorothea, Marijtje and Stijntje.  She was the second oldest of the five children.  She died before 1729.
