Cornelis was born on November 11th, 1731.  Cornelis' father was Pieter Fokker / Focker and his mother was Lijsbeth Joris Kaij / Kaaij.  His maternal grandparents were Joris Pieters Kaij / Kay and Jantje / Jannetje Volkerts. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Joris, Jacob, Abram, Dirk, Antje and Jannetje.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.
