Clifford was born on March 24th, 1886 in Norwood, Adelaide, SA.1  Clifford's father was Harry George OCKENDEN and his mother was Clara PLUMSTEAD.  His paternal grandparents were Palmer OCKENDEN and Emma MARSHALL; his maternal grandparents were Henry PLUMSTEAD and Ellen PLAYER. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Palmer, Clifford, Clayton, Evelyn, Everil, Tasma, Doris and Ardis.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 74 on August 18th, 1960 in North Adelaide, SA.  He was cremated on August 19th, 1960 in Centennial Park Cemetery, Pasadena, SA.2 3
