Archibald was born on October 29th, 1869 in Walkerville, Adelaide, SA.1 Archibald's father was William Marshall OCKENDEN and his mother was Mary Elizabeth BARRETT. His paternal grandparents were Palmer OCKENDEN and Emma MARSHALL; his maternal grandparents were Ambrose BARRAT and Mary. He had three brothers and two sisters, named William, Frank, Frederick, Effie and Bessie. He was the oldest of the six children.General Notes
