Florence, known as Flo, was born in 1891 in London, Clapton.  Flo's father was Ernest George DOWNING and her mother was Alice Eliza GOULDEN.  Her paternal grandparents were George DOWNING and Sarah Ann CARTER; her maternal grandparents were Richard GOULDEN and Elizabeth. She had three brothers and four sisters, named The Professor, Tim, Ernest, Beatrice, Lily, Dot and Dinks.  She was the second youngest of the eight children.  She died by commiting suicide, Drug overdose, at the age of 67 in 1958.
