Louis, known as Elmer, was born on July 17th, 1882 in Saginaw, MI.  Elmer's father was Louis Littlejohns and his mother was Mary Oakes/Littlejohns.  His paternal grandparents were William Langdon Littlejohns and Aurilla King/Littlejohns; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Parks Oakes and Elizabeth McCary/Oakes.  He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Thomas, Gertrude, Roland, Mae, <Unknown>, Ella, Genevieve, Aurilla, Harlan and Agnes.  He was the second oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 80 on April 16th, 1963 in Salem, OR.
