William was born on 20-Feb-1905.  William's father was Mr George Laidlaw Rayner and his mother was Elizabeth Rayner nee (Meredith).  He was the seventh of eight children.  He had five brothers and two sisters, named Franklin, Jason, Orville, Leonard, Austin, Silva and Jane.  He died, at the age of 50, on 8-Jan-1956.
