John Edward was born in 1878.1   John Edward's father was Timothy Franklin MAY and his mother was Ellen MAHONEY.  His paternal grandparents were Timothy Franklin MAY and Ellen BRIERLY; his maternal grandparents are William MAHONEY and Mary TOBIN. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Timothy Franklin, Michael, Thomas, William Patrick, Nora, Jane, Margaret E. and Mary.  He died at the age of 78 in 1956.1
