Maria Vicência was born about 1840. Maria Vicência's father was Christianno José Arnaud and her mother is Vicência Ermelinda Barbosa. Her paternal grandparents were Capitão José Joaquim Arnaud and D. Branca Flora de Chaves Coutinho. She has a brother and three sisters, named Christianno Barbosa, Maria da Glória, Maria Luiza and Maria Henriqueta. She is the third oldest of the five children.-
