Agostinho José de Sousa and Thereza Jacintha were married in a religious ceremony on November 15th, 1779 in Santa Cruz, Lagoa, ilha de S. Miguel, Açores - PORTUGAL. They had four sons and five daughters, named José Joaquim, Joaquim José, Luiz António Cotta, João José, Antónia Jacinta, Felizgarda Narciza Margarida, Jacintha Candida, Helena Amália and Ana Matilde Constantina.
