Lovick Pierce Corn

  • Mr. Corn was the former Vice Chairman of the W.C. Bradley Co., former Vice Chairman of the Bradley-Turner Foundation and Chairman of BELOCO Foundation. He was also an Emeritus Director of TSYS and a former Director of Synovus.
    He was an active member of St. Luke United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school and served faithfully on the administrative board and as an usher. He was a faithful member for over 60 years of the Rotary Club of Columbus, as well as past President. He was past Chairman and devoted member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board. Mr. Corn worked for the Bibb Manufacturing Company in 1949 and held leadership positions in several states and national cotton associations, including serving as a Trustee of the Cotton Foundation for more than 20 years. He was a member and past President of the Georgia Agribusiness Council, Epworth by the Sea, LaGrange College and Wesleyan College. He served on the Board of Visitors of the University of North Carolina. He also received the Distinguished Citizens Award from the Chattahoochee Council, Boy Scouts of America, in 1994.
    Mr. Corn was born in Macon, Georgia to Dr. Ernest and Pauline Corn. He was educated in the Macon Public schools and graduated from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. He served in the Navy during World War II in the Southwest Pacific Theater and the Philippines Campaign as Commanding Officer of USS APc42. He was married to Elizabeth Bradley Turner and they have five daughters, twelve grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Their daughters are Elizabeth (and Mike) Ogie, Polly (and Walter) Miller, Susan Wainright, Abby (and John) Irby, and Kate (and Ronnie) Wilson. Their grandchildren are Gilbert (and Jamee) Miller, Pierce (and Becky) Miller, Sarah (and Brooks) Watkins, Wilds Ogie, Heatherly Born, Steuart Wainright, Hannah Wainright, Quinn Irby, Virginia Irby, Neal Irby, Fane Foster and Forbes Foster.
