John was born in 1732 in Bramshott, Hampshire, England and his baptism took place there on November 17th, 1733.1   John's father was Richard Tuckey and his mother was Anne Bridger.  His maternal grandparents were John Bridger and Ann B. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Richard, Thomas, Joseph, Joseph, James, Anne, Mary, Abigail, Sarah and Hannah.  He was the third oldest of the eleven children.1
