William was born in May 1749 in Midsomer Norton, Somerset, England.  William's father was Thomas Parsons and his mother was Sarah Unknown.  His paternal grandparents were John Parsons and Ann Unknown. He had a brother and two sisters, named Thomas, Anne Parsons and Sarah.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 78 in February 1828 in Midsomer Norton, Somerset, England.
