John Dow 
John was born in 1863 in Leslie, Fife, Scotland. John's father was William Dow and his mother was Agnes Fleming. His maternal grandparents were James Fleming and Margaret Finlay. He had three brothers named David, James and William . He was the youngest of the four children. He had two half-sisters named Margaret and Georgina.-
