Lillian Maud was born in 1925 in St Pancras, London. Lillian Maud's father was Frederick Thomas Percy Cookson and her mother was Elizabeth Finn. Her paternal grandparents were Charles Frederick Cookson and Constance Emily Gillett; her maternal grandparents were Richard Finn and Honora Unknown. She had three brothers and a sister, named Charles Richard, Percy Gerald, Richard Frank and Gladys. She is the youngest of the five children.-
