Kate Challis 
Kate was born about 1896 in Taunton, Somerset, England. Kate's father was Mark Challis and her mother was Alice Constance Shire. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Mark, Alfred, Lucy, Ellen Grace, Margaret, Kathleen, Jesse and Ethel. She was the second oldest of the nine children.
