Kathrina's father was Christian Zacher and her mother was Susana “Juliana” Sprecher (Zacher). Her maternal grandparents were Friedrich Jon “Fred” Sprecher and Louise “Christine” Gruning (Sprecher) Grunning. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Christian, Lou, Osker, Reinhold, Arthur, Benjamin, Louise, Friedricka and Paulina. She was the sixth oldest of the ten children.
