John L “Lou” Zacher

John, known as Lou, was born on June 12th, 1884 in Tripp, Hutchinson County, South Dakota, USA.¹ Lou's father was Christian Zacher and his mother was Susana “Juliana” Sprecher (Zacher). His maternal grandparents were Friedrich Jon “Fred” Sprecher and Louise “Christine” Gruning (Sprecher) Grunning. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Christian, Osker, Reinhold, Arthur, Benjamin, Louise, Friedricka, Kathrina and Paulina. He was the third oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 91 in 1975 in Lewistown, Fergus County, Montana, USA.¹
