James Harper 
James was born in 1879 in Hilton, Co Durham.1 James' father was Henry James Harper and his mother was Mary Ann Allison. His paternal grandparents were James Henry Harper and Elizabeth Haywood. He had a brother and two sisters, named Thomas, Elizabeth and Edith. He was the second oldest of the four children. He had a half-brother named Henry.-
