Vera was born on January 15th, 1928.  Vera's father was Friedrich Christoph Heinrich Laue and her mother was Emma Johanna Herta Paul.  Her paternal grandparents were Wilhelm Friedrich Christoph Laue and Hanna Friederike Louise Scherf. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Carl, Erwin, Alexia and Bonita.  She was the second oldest of the five children.  She died at the age of 72 on June 20th, 2000.
