Марфа was born on November 13th, 1895.  Марфа's father was Василий Симеонов Передерей and her mother was Евфросиния Евстратиева Клёва (Передерей).  Her paternal grandparents were Симеон Алексеев Передерей and Варвара Вуколина Тищенко (Передерей). She had three brothers and four sisters, named Павел, Яков, Трофим, Мария, Матрона, Мелания and Елисавета.  She was the fourth youngest of the eight children.
