Александр was born in 1825.  Александр's father was Григорий Василиев Коровка and his mother was Агафия Филиповна (Корявка).  His paternal grandparents were Василий Коровка and Параскева Димитриева (Коровенчиха). He had six brothers and three sisters, named Михаил, Авксентий, Феоктист, Василий, Андрей, Савва, Стефанида, Екатерина and Мария.  He was the third youngest of the ten children.
