Pearline was born on January 14th, 1944 in Robinsonville, MS.1   Pearline's father was Robert Leon Smith Sr. and her mother is Jennie Lee Johnson.  Her paternal grandparents were Cleophus (R-Cliff) Smith and Beatrice Corpatts`. She has three brothers and three sisters, named Sonny, Leon, L, Chick, Mary and Maggie.  She is the youngest of the seven children.
