BeaElla, known as Chick, was born on January 15th, 1941 in Robinsonville, MS.1   Chick's father was Robert Leon Smith Sr. and her mother is Jennie Lee Johnson.  Her paternal grandparents were Cleophus (R-Cliff) Smith and Beatrice Corpatts`. She has three brothers and three sisters, named Sonny, Leon, L, Mary, Maggie and Pearline.  She is the second oldest of the seven children.
