Shane's father is Rev Perry Smith and his mother is Loretta Marshall. His paternal grandfather was Willy Pete Smith and his paternal grandmother is Blanche Berry. He has two brothers and a sister, named Frankie, Paul and Renete. He has three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Perry, Darrell, Charles, Mary and Royalene.
