Marie, known as Josette, was born in 1733 in Pisiguit, Acadia, Nova Scotia, Canada.  Josette's father was Michel Vincent and her mother was Anne Marie Doiron. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Jean, Joseph, Charles, Anne, Madeleine, Jeanne, Marguerite and Anne.  She was the youngest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 79 on September 1st, 1812 in St Martinville, St Martin Parish, Louisiana, USA.
