John's father was Mike Henry Roach Jr and his mother was Suzie Berry. His paternal grandparents were Mike Henry Roach Sr and Mary C.; his maternal grandparents were Unknown Berry and Fanny Vincent. He had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Gus, Pierre, Joseph, Mac, Odelia, Malina and Silvia. He died at the age of 71 on September 30th, 1979 in Orange, Orange, Texas, USA.

  Little Cypress-Funeral servides for John Albert RoachSr., 71, of Rt. 4 Box 391, (Kindard Estates), Orange; will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Fuller Runeral Home.
  
  The Rev. W. W. Smith, pastor of Pinehurst Pentecostal Church, will officiate. Burial will be in King Cemetery at Hartburg.
  
  Roach was dead Sunday at 4:10 p.m. at Orange Memorial Hospital. Pat Brown, justice fo the peace of Precinct 4, ruled death was due to natural causes.
  
  Roach had resided the last four years, wihile in ill health with his son, Henry Raoch of Kinard Estates.
  
  He was native of Sulphur and resided in Orange area 36 yrs. He was retired from the offshore drillling operations of Pure Oil Co. He was a Pentecotal.
  
  Other Survivors are his wife Georia Roach of Westlake; three other sons, Edward Roach and John A. roach Jr., both of Hartburg; and Louis Roach of Kinard Estates; two daughers, Delores Roach of West Orange and Betty Bandeau of Orangefield.
  
  Three half-sisters, Odelia Dyson of Orange, Sylvia Hughes of Houston and Melina Hughes of Vinton; four half-brother, Gus duhon, Pierre Duhon, Mach Duhon and Joe Duhon, all of Orange; 28 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
