Elizabeth was born in 1729.  Elizabeth's father was William (Billy) Henry Mills and her mother was Mary Lavender Walton.  Her paternal grandparents were Gilbert Mills and Margaret Ashmore. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Ambrose, William, Jesse, Sarah, Miley, Anna and Milly.  She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.
