Mary Mary was born in 1884 in Edisto Island, South Carolina.  Mary Mary's father was August Deas and her mother was Lydia  Perry   (Deas).  Her maternal grandfather is Perry and her maternal grandmother was Venus Perry. She had five brothers and six sisters, named William, Edward, Isiah, Benjamin, Christopher, Grace, Rachel, Phyillis, Rebecca, Elsie and Elvera .
