Evan Bruce Hardie 
Evan was born on October 18th, 1864 in Bolton, England and his baptism took place on November 20th, 1864 in Bolton Le Moors, Lancashire, England.1 Evan's father was Alexander Allardice Hardie and his mother was Jemima Jean Yiaman Davidson. His paternal grandparents were William Hardie and Elizabeth Allardice; his maternal grandparents were Henry Davidson and Mary Ann Petrie. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Francis, Edwin, William, Alexander, Thomas, Henry, Robert, Mary Ann, Elizabeth "Eliza", Agnes and Jemima . He was the oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 70 on February 17th, 1935 in Balclutha, NZ.Death Notes
A 1955 Newspaper article talk about a skeleton found at Taioma
District, 7 ½ miles from Mosgiel which had been lying there for 15 years.
It was proven to be the body of Evan Hardie
