Alexander Campbell

Alexander was born in 1833 in Ness, Isle of Lewis, Scotland and his baptism took place on July 27th, 1835.  Alexander's father was Angus Campbell and his mother was Mary McKay.  His paternal grandparents were John Campbell and Catherine MacLeod; his maternal grandparents were Angus McKay and Rachael McAskill. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Malcolm, John, Donald, Catherine and Ann.  He was the oldest of the six children.  He died  due to Heart failure 10 days at the age of 76 on September 25th, 1909 in Dunedin.  He was buried on September 27th in Dunedin.^1 2
