Ralph was born in 1055 in Mortemer-sur-Eauline, Normandy, France.1 Ralph's father was Roger de Mortimer and his mother was Hawise de Valois. His paternal grandparents were Bishop of Coutaces Hugh de Mortemer and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Count Raoul (The Great) of Valois and Vexin III and Adele de Bar-Sur-Aube. He was an only child. He died at the age of 45 on August 5th, 1100 in Wigmore, Herefordshire, England.1 General Notes
